From local nursery playgrounds to public highways, we cater for all your surface, road and line marking needs in Brighton, Guildford, Horsham, Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells and the surrounding areas.
Our road marking contractors use cutting-edge technology and techniques for line marking removals, surface preparations and road marking applications. We combine specialist equipment with skilled workmanship to create traditional and bespoke road markings, some of which include:
Whether dealing with new road and line markings on freshly laid surfaces or replacing old road markings on highways in constant use, surface preparation is always a consideration. Before installing new markings, our road marking contractors make sure the surface is clean and clear of obstructions.
If necessary, we perform whatever priming a job requires before application can begin.
We tend not to apply road markings in wet weather conditions as the materials may not bond with wet surfaces. However, in order to finish a project on time, our road marking contractors can employ thermal lances and gas torches to force dry the surface after a rainfall.
Whether road markings have faded, are no longer up to date or just need replacing, A1 Road Markings uses a variety of removal techniques for projects in Brighton, Guildford, Horsham, Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells.
The main techniques for line marking removals include:
Our skilled road marking contractors have the knowledge and experience to operate hand-held equipment and ride-on machinery safely and efficiently, with minimal surface damage.
A1 Road Markings also performs re-colouring services to freshen up fading lines that don’t require removal.
Preformed thermoplastic comes in rolls of tape for straight lines and is available in pre-cut logos and designs, for a more complex or bespoke road marking pattern. Our road marking contractors melt this product directly onto the surface with a gas torch. We also utilise hot applied thermoplastic paint powder for projects in and around Brighton, Guildford, Horsham, Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells. After melting the powder to 200˚C, we use screeding equipment to lay the molten liquid onto the surface.
Once applied, both forms of thermoplastic harden in under 60 seconds and are suitable to drive over right away.
